National Small business Week Conference and State Awards Luncheon 2022
Atlanta, Georgia: The 8th Annual Georgia W.O.M.A.N. Monthly Mixer's National Small Business Week Conference and Awards Luncheon in honor of Georgia Small Businesswomen was held, as well as fundraisers for Lupus Awareness Month by American Kinetics LLC on May, 4th 2022. Influential personalities like Senator Sonya Halpern, Cathelean Steele (SCLC, Founder of Justice For Girls), Robert Ware (Keynote Speaker, Supervisory Business Opportunity Specialist), Timothy Craig (Program Manager, Veterans Business Outreach Center), Ms. Martina Edwards (Chief of Strategic Partnerships, Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs), Dr. Reina Cubbage (Business Advisor and Instructor, Veterans Business Outreach Center) and Georgia's Celebrities like Althea Heart and Tiffany Moore participated in an important and necessary cause. Monica Nakia Ellis (CEO/Founder, Lupus Matters Corporation), Dr. Debra L. Clark (Founder and President, GreenSHADES Community Inc), and Janelle Moore (Lupus Survivor) were also present to support the cause.
Organizers and Speakers discussed the role of women in society and the importance of assisting small businesses. Sen. Sonya Halpern promised small business owners her unwavering support and encouraged them to approach her. Keynote speakers Robert Ware, Timothy Craig, and Ms. Martina Edwards discussed the importance of supporting small business owners and the Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contracting Program, which can assist people in reaching their full potential. Additionally, programs for veterans to help them become successful entrepreneurs when they transition from the military to civilian life were discussed.
A panel of six distinguished women was assembled to discuss the importance of small businesses, women business owners, and breaking down stereotypes about women starting/buying their businesses. The panel was comprised up of

One of the main topics of the event was a discussion to raise awareness about Lupus. Key speakers discussed their experiences around LUPUS and the struggles it caused in their lives. The discussions about raising awareness about Lupus were very detailed. Survivors of Lupus Monica Nakia Ellis and Janelle Moore went to great lengths to help people understand the disease's difficulties. Dr. Debra L. Clark assisted in understanding the perspective of a family member or friend who is watching a loved one suffer from Lupus. The efforts of fundraisers were commended, but more support, awareness, and funds are needed to combat this disease.
